Movement building
This training manual is the result of a collaborative effort between ABAAD and the United Nations Democracy Fund (UNDEF) as part of the: “Engaging civil society and youth in Gender Inclusive citizenship and leadership in Lebanon” project. Designed primarily for trainers and facilitators, and particularly for specialists in advocacy and community mobilization, the manual serves as a foundational tool to introduce local civil society actors and stakeholders to the core principles of building effective social movements. It equips participants with the knowledge and skills needed to form alliances and collectively advocate for their rights, fostering more inclusive and empowered communities, while addressing challenges that hinder social movement progress. Integrating key concepts on social roles, role-based violence, and related issues, the manual is adaptable and flexible, allowing professional application across various topics and community advocacy initiatives.
