ABAAD’s Regional Workshops on Gender-Transformative Reporting in Modern Media
ABAAD Hosted Two Successful Regional Workshops on Gender-Transformative Reporting in Modern Media
ABAAD successfully organized two rounds of its Regional Media Workshop, bringing together +35 journalists and content creators from across the Arab region. The workshops, held over five intensive days each, aimed to strengthen the media’s role in addressing violence against women and girls rooted in traditional gender roles.
Participants from diverse media backgrounds came together to deepen their understanding of key concepts related to gender-based violence and to explore the ethical and professional standards required to cover such issues effectively.
Through hands-on activities, case study discussions, and collaborative content development, the workshops provided a practical and inclusive platform for learning and exchange. Participants actively applied their knowledge through collaborative group projects, producing media content and podcasts that showcased the insights and skills developed throughout the sessions.
