The campaign built upon ABAAD’s organisational belief and strategy of using positive psychology and inspirational messages to catalyse social change towards gender equality in Lebanon, and it focused on the individual and collective strengths of people in Lebanon.

The campaign comprised of three television and radio commercials, in addition to street billboards and unipoles distributed all over Lebanon.

Also as part of the 16 Days Campaign, ABAAD created five postcards, each with a specific word addressing men to engage them in the process of ending VAW: Educate, Dialogue, Enable, Report, Engage.

ABAAD then partnered with the Palestinian Women Humanitarian Organisation to visit Palestinian camps in Lebanon, where men and women alike signed petitions calling for Ending Violence Against Women (EVAW), and gave suggestions towards combatting violence against women and girls.

The campaign closing took place at the Metropolis Empire Sofil in December 2013. It was launched in partnership with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, the International Medical Corps, UNRWA, OXFAM, World Vision, Save the Children, the International Rescue Committee, the Norwegian Embassy, the Forum for Development, Culture and Dialogue, the Norwegian People’s Aid, the Committee for the Follow-up on Women’s Issues, the Palestinian Women Humanitarian Organisation, the General Union of Palestinian Women, and the Lebanese Council To Resist Violence Against Women.
